In a press release issued by Bihar Police, it has been told that the main accused of Jitan Sahni murder case under Ghanshyampur police station of Darbhanga district, Kazim Ansari has been arrested. The team formed on the instructions of DGP RS Bhatti has told on the basis of investigation that Jitan Sahni was murdered in a dispute over money transaction and the main accused has accepted his involvement. Revealing the case, Darbhanga SSP said that the main accused in the murder is Kazim Ansari (40), son of Shafiq Ansari, a resident of Afzala Tola, Supaul Bazar of Ghanshyampur police station area. Revealing the case, he said that Kazim Ansari had a clothes shop, but due to lack of capital, his shop was closed, due to which he became unemployed. The accused confessed his crime before the police and said that he had taken a loan of one and a half lakhs in three installments from Jeetan Sahni in 2022 at the rate of 4% monthly interest by mortgaging his land. After taking the loan, he was unable to repay the money. In 2023, he gave 50 thousand rupees of interest to Jeetan Sahni. Jeetan Sahni was pressurizing him to return the remaining amount, which the accused was saying he was unable to give. While taking money on interest, the deceased had deposited the land papers of the accused Kazim with him. On July 12, Kazim Ansari and his friend Mohd Sitara alias Chhedi went to talk to Jeetan Sahni to settle the loan amount by reducing the interest amount and return the land, but during the conversation, an argument broke out between the two parties and the matter could not be resolved. This was also confirmed by Sitara and the deceased’s nephew Pramod Sahni.

When no solution was found, Kazim Ansari along with some of his companions hatched a plan to forcibly snatch Jeetan Sahni’s loan papers. On the night of the incident, Kazim did a recce in the street in front of the deceased’s house between 10 and 11 pm, which was also captured in the CCTV footage installed nearby. After ensuring that everyone had left the deceased’s house after 11 pm, Kazim and his companions entered the house from the back door at around 1.30 am. The door did not have an inside lock. After entering, the accused woke up the deceased and threatened him and asked for his land and loan papers. But the deceased started abusing them. At this, Kazim got angry and started stabbing the deceased with a knife. The rest of the people held the deceased’s hands and legs. After committing the murder, the accused tried to find the key to the cupboard containing the papers, so that they could take back their papers. But the key was not found. On this the accused decided to throw the cupboard in the water in a closed state so that all the papers melt and get destroyed. Then all the accused together threw the wooden cupboard in a small pond located behind the house and fled from there.

The clothes worn by accused Kazim Ansari at the time of committing the crime have been seized from his house. Although the clothes were washed, the FSL team has found traces of blood on them. FSL investigation has also found traces of blood on Kazim’s nails. Investigation is being conducted on the names of his accomplices mentioned by Kazim Ansari.
